I have proudly served and will continue to serve our thriving community. I am a current Board member at the Northeastern Center and a past Board member at Friends of Eckhart Public Library. I have also been an active member of Tri Kappa Auburn for over twenty years, serving as President, Vice President, and Chairperson of the Antique Show, Historic Home Tour, Christmas Boutique, and Kids Triathlon.
I have always been a strong advocate for public school education and am proud to be a fifth-generation educator. I have continued this advocacy outside of the classroom by serving on the First United Methodist Church School of Early Learning Board of Directors and the United Way Early Education Committee Member.
My support for DeKalb Central Schools has been felt at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I served as President of James R. Watson PTO and was co-chairperson of its playground fundraiser, where we raised $150,000 from generous community leaders and businesses for a new playground at James R. Watson Elementary.
I am a proud Baron athletic supporter. Youth sports improve our young people's physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. It is important to me to help our Baron teams achieve their goals by raising private funds to support their needs and initiatives. While my husband coaches golf and youth basketball, I am behind the scenes working on practice schedules, communicating with parents, ordering uniforms and gear, and planning many team meals.
